videoware Privacy Policy

videoware (the "Platform") is a listing & advertising marketplace and collaboration platform: companies, channels and individual users publish listings/content, and interested parties get in touch through the Platform's built-in communication feature. This policy explains what data we process and why, who we share it with, how long we keep it, and your rights.

1. Data We Collect

Provided by you:

• Account: phone number (required — it is your account identity), password (stored only as an irreversible hash), optional e-mail,
• Profile: name, profile photo, cover image, title and bio,
• Content: listings/content you publish; messages, photos, videos and documents you send,
• Organizational context: if you belong to a company/channel profile — membership e-mail, position and role,
• Invitations: the phone number of a person you invite, typed in manually.

Collected automatically:

• Device & technical data: device identifier, device name/model, app version, language preference, push notification token,
• Usage & security records: IP address, access logs, read receipts, consent records (accepted document version and date ⟦+ IP and device info⟧).

What we do NOT collect: we never access your contact list; we do not collect location data; we do not use advertising identifiers; we do not request special categories of personal data.

2. Why We Use Your Data

We do not sell your data and we do not run profiling-based advertising.

3. Plain Statement About Your Messages

In-platform messages and shared media are stored on our servers so the service can work, and are encrypted in transit (TLS). However, messages are NOT end-to-end encrypted: content is stored server-side in a form accessible for operating the service (this is, for example, what makes it possible to review a message you report). Please keep this in mind when sharing sensitive information.

4. Who We Share Data With

Your data is shared only with the providers required to run the service:

As our servers are located in Germany, your data is transferred abroad; such transfers are carried out under the standard contractual safeguards announced by the Turkish Data Protection Board (KVKK Art. 9). Other users naturally see the information contained in your profile and in content you share. Requests from legally competent authorities are fulfilled within the applicable legal framework. For mergers/transfers see §12.

Passwords are stored using a modern hashing algorithm (argon2); all traffic is encrypted with TLS; device verification, request signing, rate limiting and access controls are applied. No system is 100% secure; in the event of a data breach we will comply with our statutory notification obligations (72 hours under KVKK).

7. Account Deletion

• In the app: Settings → Delete Account (with password confirmation).
• On the web: https://videoware.app/delete-account — available even if you have uninstalled the app.

Deletion permanently removes your account, profile, media, device/notification records and sessions; it cannot be undone.

Your messages: the messages you sent are permanently deleted as well and disappear from the chat screens of the people you talked to. The conversation itself and the messages the other party wrote remain on their side.

Limited data that may be retained despite deletion: Upon deletion of the account, the data relating to the active user account is deleted; however, data that must be retained under applicable legislation or that is necessary for the establishment, exercise or protection of a right may be retained, solely for those purposes and for the relevant period. This may include:

This data is used for no other purpose and is deleted when its period expires. ⟦Draft note: scope and periods to be finalised upon legal review — B-2.⟧ Limited records we are legally required to keep (e.g. ⟦CONSENT RECORD PERIOD⟧) may be retained for the statutory periods. App-store subscriptions are not cancelled automatically by deleting your account; cancel them in your Google Play / App Store subscription settings.

8. Invited Persons (non-members)

A user may have manually entered your phone number to invite you. If you do not register, your number is automatically deleted within at most 60 days; even without being a member you may request its immediate deletion via support@videoware.app.

9. Children's Privacy

The Platform is not directed at persons under 18 and we do not knowingly collect children's data. If a user below the age requirement is identified, the account and its data are deleted.

10. Your Rights

Under KVKK Art. 11 you have the rights of access, rectification, erasure, information about transfers, objection and compensation. Applications: support@videoware.app — answered within 30 days at the latest, free of charge. You may also request a portable copy of your data.

11. Commercial Communications

Marketing messages are sent only with your separate, optional consent, given at or after registration; you may withdraw it at any time. Not granting consent does not affect your use of the Platform.

12. Transfer of the Service

The operation of the Platform may be transferred to a third legal entity in the event of a merger, acquisition, reorganization or incorporation. In that case your personal data and the data-controller role pass to the transferee subject to the protections in this policy, and you will be notified.

13. Changes

Updates are published here with a new version number and effective date; material changes are additionally announced in the app and, where required, your consent is obtained again.
